You can use the normal slide in close curves. In this kind of slide you have to steer into the direction of the curve before the curve begins. This means you would drive into the wall if you don't slide. Shortly after you steer into the direction of the curve you have to step on the brake and disengage the gas. You hold on the brake until you get around the turn safely and if you disengage the brake you step again the gas and hold it. To get as fast as possible around a close turn you have to disengage the brake as early as possible without driving into the wall. It's not very easy to find out the best timing but with much training you'll find it.
